New Air Conditioner Tax Credit
If you install a new air conditioner in 2021, you may be eligible for a tax credit up to $300.
The credit applies to select air conditioners, heat pumps, packaged units and ductless systems. The equipment must be installed in your existing primary residence (no rentals or new construction) by Dec 31, 2021.
Reddi Heating and Cooling has a number of qualifying systems, including top-selling Trane units.
Air conditioners must meet these requirements:
- SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 16+, and an EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 13+.
- Must be recognized as “ENERGY STAR Most Efficient” equipment.
If you have an older air conditioner, a modern high efficiency system will include a number of benefits, including cost savings through reduced energy bills. We provide free home assessments and estimate for new air conditioners, so if you’d like to learn more, give us a call to schedule an appointment.
You will need to file IRS Form 5695 with your tax return to receive this credit. This tax credit also retroactively applies to new air conditioners installed between 2018 and 2020. Please consult with your tax advisor if you have filing questions.
